We Handle All Types of Criminal Law Matters

When you are, or a family member is, charged with a crime, arrested for a crime, or being investigated by the police, it’s stressful, chaotic and frightening.  It is important for you to get legal help as quickly as possible to ensure that your rights are fully protected at all stages.

Ralph Greene, one of our of-counsel lawyers, was a prosecutor for over a decade, and the Chief Assistant to the State Attorney in this Circuit for several of those years.  Since then he has been in private practice, and his practice has included handling many criminal defense cases.  Ralph has tried approximately 200 jury trial during his many years of practice . . . so he definitely knows his way around a criminal court-room!  And he also knows how the prosecutors in a criminal case are going to be looking at the case.  Ralph’s experience on both sides of criminal cases is invaluable when defending such cases.  Ralph and his team will act aggressively and diligently in order to get the best possible results for you and your loved one.

Should You Talk to the Police?

Should you talk to the police if you’ve been arrested, are being charged, or if you are being investigated?  In short . . . No . . . and certainly not without your own lawyer present.

The 5th and 6th amendments provide everyone the right to remain silent and right to the assistance of an attorney. You should immediately get legal representation if you or a family member have been charged with a crime and you should NOT talk with the police. If you must speak with the police it should be in the presence of your lawyer.

There are many cases where statements made by the defendant are taken out of context and used against them.  We cannot stress enough the importance of having strong legal representation before dealing with the police.

If you have been charged with a crime, or are under investigation, or if you have been arrested, you should seriously consider hiring an attorney as soon as possible to represent your interests and to make sure your rights are protected.
